Luke 15:4 KJV "What man of you, having an hundred sheep, if he lose one of them, doth not leave the ninety and nine in the wilderness, and go after that which is lost, until he find it?
How beautiful to know we are never alone. I've heard the cry - the lonely ache from someone hurting, the utterances that lie beneath the spoken word that says, "I feel lost." The churning in my stomach to take their burden away but I can't.
I've been there. The whole world is crashing down and it doesn't feel like anyone could possibly understand. I have taken my problems into my own hands time and time again. If I could just do [this], maybe things would be better. Then I remember, the best [this} I can do is to turn to Jesus.
Matthew 11:28-30 tells us, "Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you, and learn of me; for I am meek and lowly in heart: and ye shall find rest unto your souls. For my yoke is easy and my burden light."
How marvellous. If we get lost, our mighty Father will stop everything to rescue us from the wilderness. He doesn't give up. He goes after us until He finds us. That's what love does.
Lord,
I pray when we are lost that you find us ready. I pray you find us open. I pray we invite you in with open hearts and never let you go. Thank you for letting us rest in your love. Thank you for carrying the weight of our burdens. May we always appreciate your love and sacrifice.
In Jesus' name,
Amen
